Blog: New Website

Time flies. It’s been close to five years since I updated my website. While not yet complete, this new version includes the following features:

  • Semantic: The XHTML used describes document meaning and not layout.
  • Presentation layer: External applied CSS for scalable layout.
  • Behavior: Page behavior is separated out for the most part into externally loaded Javascript that degrades.
  • SEO: Use of the above techniques should provide me with better search engine placement.
  • APIs: The photos section has been revamped as well to pull in snaps from my Flickr account.
  • Writing: Obviously I’ve also added a blog. My hope hear is refine my writing skills by posting at least 1 once a month on web development.

Being a Windows free household, and because this site is for my personal benefit, I haven’t spent much time cross browser testing. Call me lazy. Dear reader, who ever you are, if you happen to come across issues in your browser, or wish to offer some notes of praise — hint, hint, nudge, nudge — drop a comment!

It’s great to see your site getting some love. And it’s great when a great developer and cool guy starts sharing his thoughts with the great wide world. Great, did I mention how great this news is?

Just one remark, would you consider enabling full-length posts in your feed? Not that your site isn’t great (see above), but often people prefer to read in the comfort of their own rss reader.

    Bonne chance ;)
